The lustre lipsticks are perfect for everyday wear - they aren't overly pigmented but are not sheer either. Next are three lustre lipsticks - Plumful (mid-plum), Syrup (mid-petal pink) and Alessandra (pinky-nude). I definitely need to try more amplified lipsticks. This formula is really pigmented and creamy and lasts longer on the lips than the cremesheen formula. I have one amplified lipstick, in the shade Fast Play (a warm mauvey-brown-pink).

It is a very pigmented shade and really the perfect red for all skin tones - the bonus of it being blue-toned is that makes your teeth look whiter. This formula is extremely drying but it is worth it because it lasts for around 6/7 hours through eating and drinking before it needs re-applying. I only own one retro matte lipstick, which is Ruby Woo (the perfect blue-toned red). I find that my lips need to be in good condition to wear these because the shimmer shows up any flaky patches, Don't let the frost label put you off - these are not like the frosts of the '80s (Rimmel Heather Shimmer ring a bell?) - they are pigmented and shimmery and last around 4 hours on the lips before they need re-applying. Next up are two frost lipsticks - Angel (warm pink) and Costa Chic (warm coral). This formula is almost as comfortable as the Cremesheen formula but it is longer-lasting without being drying - the perfect balance and they are also very pigmented. I have two Satin lipsticks - Brave (mauvey pink) and Rebel (a deep berry-toned pink).

Creme Cup is the only MAC lipstick that I've ever repurchased and at one point, was all I wore for months on end! The downside of the creamy formula is that it isn't the longest lasting lipstick - usually requiring a top up around the 3 hour mark but I can live with that. I love the Cremesheen formula - it's creamy, as the name suggests and really comfortable on the lips. I have three Cremesheen lipsticks in the shades Peach Blossom (a cool soft peachy-pink), Creme Cup (mid pink) and Sunny Seoul (a warm pink). L-R:: Peach Blossom, Creme Cup, Sunny Seoul, Brave, Rebel, Angel, Costa Chic, Ruby Woo, Fast Play, Plumful, Syrup, Alessandra, Mehr, Please Me, Velvet Teddy. I apologise in advance for the not so great swatch photo - I have huge admiration for those pinterest-worthy swatches I see on some blogs but it isn't something I can achieve yet! The first thing that is noticeable once you take the lid off, is the sweet, vanilla scent, which I personally really like! Ok, enough about the packaging and scent - let's get on with my collection. The packaging of MAC lipsticks isn't really anything to write home about but it's easily recognisable as being MAC so I guess there is no reason for them to change it. I have tried all except the liptensity but that needs to change! MAC lipsticks come in a range of finishes - matte, retro matte, satin, lustre, glaze, cremesheen, amplified, frost and liptensity - so there really is something for all tastes.

I tend to buy them in Duty Free where there's a €3 saving. MAC lipsticks have crept up in price over the years and are currently priced at £16.50/ €20/ US$17 and an eye-watering $36 in Australia so whilst they are more affordable than YSL or Charlotte Tilbury, they still aren't exactly budget-friendly. I don't have the biggest MAC lipstick collection compared to a lot of bloggers but it is the brand that I have the most lipsticks from in my collection so I thought I would share it with you today.
